Branded products in recipe formulation

Say your formulation calls for a specific brand of salsa, not a generic “salsa, canned” ingredient. Search now returns branded products from USDA FoodData Central right alongside the generic ones. Pick one and its real nutrient values and labeled serving size carry straight into the recipe.

The calculated Nutrition Facts label reflects what’s actually going into the product, not an approximation from the closest generic match.

A branded product’s usage tracks like any other ingredient’s. Open it from the Ingredient Library and its Usage tab lists every recipe it’s in.
